Dr. Richard D. Gentile is a distinguished and world-renowned Board-Certified Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and teacher and author who is respected internationally for his innovation artistry and technical skills. Dr. Gentile is sought out globally by his colleagues to share his knowledge and techniques through invited lectures, textbook contributions, hands on educational courses and many scientific publications. He received his BS in Genetics from the Ohio State University in 1978 after being granted early admission to the University. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1982. He then accepted a dual Residency position in Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the world-famous Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas where he trained under Dr. Michael E DeBakey in general surgery. Dr. Gentile was influenced by Drs. Donald Shumrick, Jack Gluckman, Robin Cotton while at UCMED and Dr. Bobby Alford, Dr. William K Wright, and Dr. Russ Kridel at BAYLORMED in Facial Plastic Surgery. Before it became trendy in the US, Dr. Gentile for Physicians completed a Master of Business Administration executive program at Youngstown State University in 1991. Known by his peers for “Thinking Innovatively Outside the Box” Dr. Gentile has been committed to developing innovative methods for Facial Rejuvenation and is a frequent lecturer in New Technologies and Devices and has conducted multiple FDA studies with new devices for the Aesthetic Industry. Dr Gentile has served in leadership roles in both the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) where he was an executive board member and Treasurer and for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health care (AAAHC) where he served on the Standards Committee for ten years. Prior to entering full time private practice Dr. Gentile had faculty appointments at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Texas; Case Western Reserve College of Medicine, Cleveland Ohio; and Northeastern Ohio Medical University, Akron, Ohio. Dr Gentile resides in Canfield Ohio and maintains private clinics in Youngstown and Akron Ohio. Dr Gentile has a long list of publications, book chapters and presentations nationally and internationally and is the editor of “Neck Rejuvenation” a textbook for Plastic Surgeons published in 2011. Dr. Gentile is the creator of the LaserSmartLift the world’s first laser-assisted facelift and the UltraLift® the world’s first Ultrasonic assisted facelift. He has also developed advanced technology suture techniques for Necklifting Cerclage Purse String Platysmaplasty (CERCTM PSP and energy-based techniques for Deep Plane Facelift and Deep Plane Necklift (ACCU-SMAS®).
